Weathershield and WallBAR Insulation
Keep Warmth In and Sound Out
Weathershield cellulose insulation has been trusted in Canadian construction for more than 40 years. The line is now part of Soprema, a Canadian manufacturer, and is made today as SOPRA-CELLULOSE for ceilings and WallBAR for walls. At Sandstorm Construction we install both, for one simple reason. They keep the heat where you put it, right through a Prairie winter.
Cellulose is blown or injected into place, so it fills every irregular cavity and seals the gaps where heat slips out. It is made in Canada from more than 80% recycled paper and cardboard, is GREENGUARD Gold certified, and is treated to resist fire, mould, and pests. That last point matters in a rural shop, where mice are always looking for a way in.
SOPRA-CELLULOSE for Ceilings
- Holds an R-value of 3.7 per inch, the highest of any traditional bulk insulation fibre, so you get more performance from less material.
- In deep cold, blown fibreglass can lose up to half its rated R-value as air moves through it. Dense cellulose resists that air movement and holds its performance when you need it most.
- Does not settle or break down over time, so the protection you pay for stays in place for the life of the building.
- Low VOC and odourless, with no formaldehyde, asbestos, or fibreglass.
WallBAR for Walls
- The same system, optimized for wall cavities and injected into place to form a seamless, void-free fit with no air leakage.
- Highly effective at muting outdoor noise and sound carrying between rooms.
- A wall that does not leak air is a wall that holds heat, so your furnace runs less and the shop stays comfortable to work in.
- Non-toxic and safe to handle, made in Canada from recycled material with a harmless fire retardant.
A warm shop starts with what is inside the walls, and it is the same standard we hold for the whole build. Built Honest and True.
