What Happens After You Submit a Quote Request

The quote form on our website asks for a few details about your project. Fair enough to wonder what happens on the other end after you hit submit. Here’s the process, because knowing it makes it easier to start.

Why we ask for details up front

A building quote is only as good as the information underneath it. Size, use, location, heated or not, doors. When those details come in through the form, they’re captured in writing, nothing gets misheard, and nothing gets lost between a phone call and a notepad. It’s the fastest path to numbers that actually mean something, which is better for you and for us.

What happens next

We review what you sent, and you’ll hear back from us, usually within a couple of business days. Often the first contact is questions rather than a number: about the site, the access, what the building needs to do day to day. Good questions at this stage are a feature, not a delay. They’re what keep surprises out of the build later.

Then you get a written quote that’s clear about what’s included and what isn’t. That clarity matters more than people realize, because two quotes from two builders are rarely quoting the same building. We wrote about that in Seven Mistakes People Make on Their First Shop Build. Ask us about anything in the quote. We’d rather explain a line item than have you guess at it.

What helps us quote faster

The more of this you have, the quicker it goes: a rough size or a list of what needs to fit inside (our sizing guide helps with that), what the building is for, where the land is, whether it’ll be heated, door count and sizes if you know them, and your rough timeline. Photos of the site help too.

Don’t have it all figured out? Send what you have. The conversation fills in the gaps, and “I don’t know yet” is a perfectly good answer on a quote form.

What a quote doesn’t commit you to

Nothing. A quote is free, and it’s information. Use it to plan, to budget, to compare. If the timing isn’t right this year, that’s fine. We’d rather be the builder you call when it is than the one who pestered you until you stopped answering.
